Ken McEwen has managed many media offices for events
ranging from the RSAC Scottish Rally through to
exhibitions.
One of the most interesting came about when BBC
journalist Nicholas Witchell approached our client to
support his scientific survey of Loch Ness, we were
appointed PR consultants for his Project Urqhuart.
The strategy was to underline that this was the
most comprehensive survey of the largest body of
fresh water in Britain. This serious message was
delivered, while allowing 'Nessie' to add a little
interest and humour to the scientific
endeavour!
Media interest was phenomenal. It included a live
'slot' on Good Morning America and worldwide
newspaper, radio and television coverage. We
abandoned assessing the value of UK coverage when we
reached £3 million.
